* Things Fall Apart * My first impression of this novel was not to exciting! The novel seems confusing, boring, hard to follow, and complicated all together.I feel like the Igbo culture would be somewhat of a drag because of all the different things that go on.I dont think i would be able to get use to the Igbo culture.I wouldn't be able to get use to it because i'm so use to one thing it would be hard to adapt to another. The Men in the Igbo tribe merry according to how much money they have. The more money they have the more wives they can have.In America people merry basically who they want as long as the couple is a certain age.The Igbo have to grow their food in order to eat.Today in America all have to do it go to a store and buy their food or other items. One way the Igbo is similar to America is money value. The Igbo values money because without it they would have no wives. If Americans had no money then life would slowly fade away resulting in lots of deaths. www.africaguide.com/culture/tribes/ibo.htm/culture/tribes/ibo.htm

Masculinity to the Igbo is ruling. They believe that if you can rule your women and children then your a man. America defines masculinity as taking care of your family and having a job. In a way the Igbo's belief and Americans are somewhat alike because its a little common for a man to think if he cry's he's not a man, although its not true but its not uncommon. They're different in they way that Igbo if you show any emotion then you can be looked at as weak. In America many think its better to show emotion because without it things just wouldn't be the same. The thing that i don't like it that the Igbo look at women as if they don't matter. I think people will really see the importance of women unless there were no women at all. I think women are important because men they say women are not important but they rely on women. They rely on women for their meal, kids, to keep things clean, and ect. file:///Users/hs0130174/Desktop/images-1.jpeg
